Cheap Laptop? Consider These Tips Before You Bring One Home...
Maybe you're thinking of getting yourself a cheap laptop computer. Well,
laptop computers have never really been cheap. Here are a few things
to consider before you get one...
Cheap Laptop Tip #1 -
Laptops are designed more for convenience than for power. What do I
mean?

If you buy a laptop computer and a desktop computer for the same
price, most often, the desktop is a more powerful machine. There is
a trade-off between power or performance and size. Just think of it:
it's hard to get a Corvette engine under the hood of a mini-cooper.
Cheap Laptop Tip #2 - Laptop computers are not as easy to
upgrade as desktop computers are.
Maybe
you know that, and you do not intend to upgrade.
Fine; but if you were thinking of getting a bigger drive and more
RAM in a couple of months, the prices may not be lower.
Forget it if you intend to upgrade sound and video - in that case,
pick the features you want from the start.
Cheap Laptop Tip #3 - The cost of your computer is basically
the cost of the features and capabilities that are built in to it. A
cheap portable computer (or any computer, for that matter) is only as
good as the features and capabilities you buy. More features, more
money.
Cheap Laptop Tip #4 - Know the features and
capabilities you are looking for so that you will be satisfied with
your purchase.
If portability is what you desire, then almost any cheap portable
that you can carry may be fine. Most times, we want more than just
portability, we want lots of features.
Cheap Laptop Tip #5 - As new technology becomes available,
the prices on older technology will naturally fall.
If you can find an inexpensive laptop that doesn't have wireless internet
capabilities, you could probably buy it for the price of a toy
nowadays, but you would be wearing leash everywhere you go.
This is no problem if this is what you need - just check out the
features and capabilities, as I have said before.
Cheap Laptop Tip #6 - Don't just pick off your friend's old
laptop so he can run off and buy himself a top brand and leave you
stuck with cheap old technology.
Oh, that happened to me in 1995. I bought my first laptop from a
guy from Taiwan. We were in college together and he was returning
home. I bought his old dinosaur and regretted it badly.
I never knew then that I should check on what is available or what
will become available shortly. Since then, I have bought a more
laptops - cheap laptops and more expensive laptops as a more informed
consumer.
So, there is nothing wrong with getting a cheap notebook computer as long as
your expectation is not bigger than the price.
If portability and convenience are primary and the performance
expectation is within the limits of the features and capabilities
built into the laptop, you will be satisfied in getting a low-priced
portable
computer.
To ensure your satisfaction, though, only consider
cheap laptop options with 100% satisfaction guarantee.
